Thank you...

Updated: Jul 20, 2021

...from the bottom of my pea-pickin' little heart. I am so very grateful for the response I've received both in book sales and in the form of personal encouragement. It is difficult to express the depth of gratitude I feel for your support for this book and my characters.

I thought I was done crying yesterday (happy tears) when my husband came home with a dozen red roses. It wasn't my birthday, I wasn't ill, he wasn't in the doghouse, and we aren't celebrating our wedding anniversary---not yet, anyway. I thanked him and, understandingly a bit confused (or dense, I asked him what they were for---what occasion they marked. He said they were to celebrate the publication of my first book. Then he told me how proud he was of me. I started crying again, right there in the middle of the kitchen. Now Dan was the one understandably confused. But we got it worked out.

So in a similar vein, thank you all, so much, for making my day, week, and year.

So what do you always do after you thank someone? Well, if you're smart you do something nice for them. Me, I'm not so smart. I am going to ask you all for another favor. Why? Because I hope you come to love this book and these characters enough to want to share them with others.

So my request of you is three-fold.

  1. If you've ordered the book and after you've read it: If you like it it, could you please write a review on Amazon, or Goodreads, or your favorite place to order on-line. Would you consider posting a link to the book on your social media? Why? Because I have more stories to tell, including more in the Boundary Waters Search and Rescue world. I love God, and I love sharing Him with others in fiction. I hope that leaving reviews will encourage others to pick up a book by a new writer and read it. My book is not perfect, but I'm learning more about good writing as I go along and as I am taught by those wiser than I, and I am a natural storyteller. Hopefully that means that each book I write will be a bit better than the last!

  2. Would you consider gifting a copy of Boundary Waters Search and Rescue: Beyond Belief? Consider giving it to someone who might need a bit of encouragement (I am a happy-ending kinda gal), who needs the escape of a good story, or who just needs to know that God always has a plan, and He never deserts us, even in the darkness. If you would like it signed and live in the US, I will pay shipping to send it back to you, if you will send it to me. If you'd like to do this and you have someone in mind, but lack the resources, please send me an email (email address on HOME page). We can work something out. (This is an offer to followers of this page. Sadly, I lack the resources to put it out to the general public).

  3. If you'd like me to gift a copy to your church, a reputable marriage ministry, or the public library in your town, village, city, etc. please email me. (This is an offer to followers of this page. Sadly, I lack the resources to put it out to the general public).

This is not about me being so full of myself that I think the world can't do without my book. Rather it is the result of hours spent in prayer. What I want is for this book to reach the people it's supposed to reach. Those who need to hear its message beyond the storytelling. We have a great God and in a no pressure sort of way Beyond Belief communicates that message.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the next in the book release celebration giveaways. If you want to participate all you have to do is sign up to be site member on the HOME page. I give you my word that I will respect your privacy and not play fast and loose with your email address.

In gratitude for all of you,

Joy
