I. AM. EXCITED!
I got the first round of edits back from my publisher today. As most of you can imagine, this can be a very humbling and painful experience. And, to be sure, there was some red and blue ink that I need to work through, but most of that ink was in formatting changes or in consistency errors. They didn't cut anything from the story and there were few grammatical errors.

This is me, excited. :-)
The edits also came 4 weeks BEFORE the deadline they'd given me. Talk about a clean manuscript smoothing the process!
I can't take credit for my clean manuscript. Most of the credit goes to my stellar editor (independent) who vetted, corrected and cut my manuscript before I sent it to the publisher. DKBB (my editor) has 28 years of editing experience, which includes fiction, non-fiction and legal editing. She has experience in editing fantasy, drama, romance and paranormal fiction (this may be understating her breadth of experience) and she is also a legal editor for a state supreme court's documents. Trust me when I say you don't want to make a mistake on those opinions. :-) If any of you are interested in talking to her about an editing job, email me at joyharding.author@gmail.com , or leave a comment, and I will send you the URL of her website. (I am not a business partner of hers, nor was I compensated to write this review. I am simply a thrilled client.)
Onward! I am one step closer to holding a book in my hand.
Thank you all for your interest and for your encouragement. Joy.
